Critical Care

Nobody ever wants to ever think about a family member experiencing an emergency – regardless of whether they happen to have two legs or four. Unfortunately, accidents happen and sudden, unexpected injuries and illnesses can occur at any time – even to our pets. The best thing you can do for your loved one is be prepared ahead of time and know who to turn to the moment urgent veterinary care is needed.

Moore Animal Hospital is equipped to handle critical medical, diagnostic and surgical care needs at any time during our normal business hours. Our team is experienced in emergency care and is prepared to step in at a moment’s notice to manage the situation in a way that improves the chances of a positive outcome.

Common signs of a pet emergency include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Choking
  • Diarrhea or vomiting that contains blood or lasts longer than 24 hours
  • Lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Trauma, such as a fall or being hit by a vehicle
  • Broken bones
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Inability to urinate
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Lameness
  • Unconsciousness
  • Seizures

For pet emergencies that occur outside of our normal business hours, we work with a number of local 24/7 emergency vet hospitals. Rest assured that if and when the need for urgent medical attention arises, your loved one will be in excellent hands.
