8 Things Your Cat Will Do This Summer

June 1, 2021

Summer is just about here! Many people are really looking forward to getting together with their family and friends. Of course, your feline pal has a few plans of her own. A Fort Collins, CO vet lists a few of the things on your kitty’s agenda in this article.

 Sunbathe

Cats don’t actually run on solar power. However, Fluffy may have missed that memo, as she is extremely fond of sprawling out in sunbeams!

Birdwatching

Our feline friends kill billions of small animals, including birds, every year. This is just one reason we recommend keeping them indoors. Fluffy will enjoy having a good window seat, though, one where she can watch birds and squirrels.

Moth Chasing

Dogs are known for being very protective of their homes and masters. However, Fluffy is also a very competent guardian. At some point this summer, your furball will make a valiant effort to protect her kingdom from an intruding moth.

Kitty Rage

Speaking of intruders, one thing that is bound to set your furry little buddy off is the sight of an unauthorized kitty in her yard. Fluffy may be quite enraged if she spots a trespasser through the window!

Cause Traffic Jam

Overheating is a huge hazard for cats, as they can’t cool down very easily if they get too hot. Kitties apparently know this, as they often seem to taking extra care not to overexert themselves when it’s hot out. One way our feline pals like to beat the heat is by sprawling out on cool tile floors. If Fluffy makes everyone else step over or around her, that’s even better.

Strike A Pose

Fluffy is always very photogenic. However, she often looks extra cute in bright, sunny settings. Take some pictures of your furball this summer!

Nap

Kitties are very dedicated to their napping schedules. Fluffy will strive to keep up with that punishing routine of 43 daily naps, no matter what the weather is like.

Explore

Kitties are very curious, and they like to investigate … well, everything. Fluffy will probably try to get out at least once this year. Keep your furball safe and sound indoors, where she’s protected from things like cars, weather, and traffic!
