Cute Ways to Celebrate New Year's With Fido

January 1, 2021

Happy New Year! We’re more than happy to bid 2020 farewell, and move on to 2021. Of course, your canine pal will be right there with you over the next 12 months, helping you navigate whatever ups and downs the new year brings. Why not include him in your holiday? Here, a Fort Collins, CO veterinarian lists some ways to celebrate with your furry buddy.

Watch A Sunrise

It may be a bit late for this one by the time you read it, but this will work just as well on the 2nd. Watching the first sunrise of a new year is a great way to sort of reset yourself. If you’re a night owl, you could also just watch the sunset!

Enjoy A Good Meal

For many people, holiday food indulgence comes to a screeching halt on New Year’s Eve. Many people also set goals for eating healthier and/or losing weight. Who says you can’t have it both ways? Enjoy something that’s both healthy and nourishing. Don’t forget to get Fido something special as well!

Go For A Walk

Are you planning to get in better shape this year? Take your canine buddy for a walk. If the weather isn’t very accommodating, take time to play with him indoors.

Watch A Movie

Many people will be going back to the grind Monday, after taking time off for the holidays. Before heading back to a hectic schedule, enjoy some down time with your furry bff. Watch a movie, try a new series, or check out an audiobook. You and your pooch can also have some leftovers. Just stick with foods that are safe for Fido!

Connect With Loved Ones

Fido makes a super cute Zoom buddy! Reach out to people you haven’t talked to in a while, and wish them a Happy New Year.

Strike A Pose

Dogs are always photogenic. Snap some cute selfies of you and your furry best friend! Or, take a family photo with Fido.

Help Other Pups

Consider donating to a charity or rescue society that helps homeless dogs. Every little bit helps! Put Fido’s name on the donation, or just tell him about it. You’ll at least get a head tilt and tail wag!

Please reach out if ever we can be of assistance. As your Fort Collins, CO veterinary clinic, we’re here to help!
